                                      AN ACT
 1   Amending the act of December 20, 1985 (P.L.457, No.112),
 2      entitled "An act relating to the right to practice medicine
 3      and surgery and the right to practice medically related acts;
 4      reestablishing the State Board of Medical Education and
 5      Licensure as the State Board of Medicine and providing for
 6      its composition, powers and duties; providing for the
 7      issuance of licenses and certificates and the suspension and
 8      revocation of licenses and certificates; provided penalties;
 9      and making repeals," further providing for temporary license.
10      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
11   hereby enacts as follows:
12      Section 1.      Section 33(a) introductory paragraph of the act
13   of December 20, 1985 (P.L.457, No.112), known as the Medical
14   Practice Act of 1985, is amended and the section is amended by
15   adding a subsection to read:
16   Section 33.      Temporary license.
17      (a)   General rule.--[A] Except as provided under subsection
18   (d), a temporary license empowers the licensee to:

20      (d)   Exception.--The board shall grant a full and
21   unrestricted license to practice medicine to a temporary
 1   licensee not subject to subsection (a) who is a graduate from an
 2   international medical school, performed the duties of a
 3   physician for at least three years outside of the United States
 4   and demonstrates all of the following:
 5          (1)   Competency as determined by the board.
 6          (2)   Good standing with the board two years after the
 7      date of issuance of a temporary license from the board.
 8          (3)   Sufficient evidence that the temporary licensee has
 9      an offer of employment as a physician at a health care
10      facility that operates in this Commonwealth.
11      Section 2.   This act shall take effect in 60 days.
