                                    AN ACT
 1   Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
 2      Statutes, in Pennsylvania Game Commission, further providing
 3      for junior hunter projects.
 4      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
 5   hereby enacts as follows:
 6      Section 1.    Section 327(a) of Title 34 of the Pennsylvania
 7   Consolidated Statutes is amended and the section is amended by
 8   adding a subsection to read:
 9   § 327.   Junior hunter projects.
10      (a)   General rule.--It shall be the duty of the commission to
11   initiate, implement and administer two or more junior license
12   hunter projects and a youth antlered deer season for the purpose
13   of increasing and sustaining interest in hunting among young
14   persons of this Commonwealth. Except for the requirement to
15   actually hold a junior hunting license under section 2705(2) or
16   (9) (relating to classes of licenses), or hold a permit issued
17   by the commission entitling a person 12 years of age or younger
18   to hunt alongside a mentor, and as may otherwise be modified by
 1   commission regulations, all participants in any junior hunter
 2   project shall comply with all of the provisions of this title
 3   and the regulations promulgated hereunder.
 4      * * *
 5      (c)   Youth antlered deer season.--
 6            (1)   The commission shall establish a youth antlered deer
 7      season of up to five continuous days prior to the start of
 8      the regular firearms deer season.
 9            (2)   A junior hunting license issued under section
10      2705(2) or (9) or a permit issued by the commission entitling
11      a person 12 years of age or younger to hunt alongside a
12      mentor shall entitle the holder of the license or permit to
13      one antlered deer tag to be used during the youth antlered
14      deer season.
15      Section 2.    This act shall take effect in 60 days.
