                                      AN ACT
 1   Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
 2      Statutes, in registration of vehicles, providing for Fish PA
 3      plate.
 4      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
 5   hereby enacts as follows:
 6      Section 1.      Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
 7   Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
 8   § 1355.3.      Fish PA plate.
 9      (a)   Design.--
10            (1)    No later than 60 days after the effective date of
11      this section, the department, in consultation with the
12      Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, shall offer a public
13      design contest to school entity and nonpublic school students
14      in kindergarten through fifth grade in this Commonwealth for
15      a period of 60 days after the initial offering of the design
16      contest. The purpose of the design contest shall be to
17      solicit entries for a special Fish PA registration plate.
18            (2)    The department, in consultation with the
 1      Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, shall design a special
 2      Fish PA registration plate that:
 3                  (i)    is based on the winning entry in the design
 4            contest under paragraph (1);
 5                  (ii)    includes the phrase "Fish PA"; and
 6                  (iii)    features the depiction of a brook trout.
 7      (b)   Application.--Upon application by any person and payment
 8   of a $43 fee, which shall be in addition to the registration
 9   fee, the department shall issue a Fish PA registration plate to
10   the person.
11      (c)   Limitation on gross weight.--The special registration
12   plate may be used only on a passenger car or truck with a
13   registered gross weight of not more than 14,000 pounds.
14      (d)   Fee allocation to Fish Fund.--
15            (1)   The amount of $14 of each fee collected under
16      subsection (b) shall be deposited into the Fish Fund
17      established under 30 Pa.C.S. § 521 (relating to establishment
18      and use of Fish Fund).
19            (2)   The money deposited under paragraph (1) shall be
20      used by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission for the
21      Trout in the Classroom Program or a successor program.
22      Section 2.        This act shall take effect in 120 days.
