AN ACT
1 Amending Title 3 (Agriculture) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, in food protection, further providing for
3 definitions and for prohibited acts.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 5722 of Title 3 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a definition to read:
8 § 5722. Definitions.
9 The following words and phrases when used in this subchapter
10 shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
11 context clearly indicates otherwise:
12 "Cell-cultured protein." A product made for human
13 consumption that is:
14 (1) made wholly or in part from the cell culture or the
15 DNA of any animal, including any mammal, reptile, fish,
16 amphibian, bird or invertebrate; and
17 (2) grown or cultivated outside of the animal from which
1 the cell culture or DNA was acquired.

3 Section 2. Section 5723 of Title 3 is amended by adding a
4 paragraph to read:
5 § 5723. Prohibited acts.
6 The following acts are prohibited:

8 (15) The manufacturing, selling, delivering for sale,
9 holding for sale or offering for sale of cell-cultured
10 protein.
11 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
