                                       AN ACT
 1   Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
 2      act relating to the public school system, including certain
 3      provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
 4      schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
 5      laws relating thereto," in Grow Pennsylvania Scholarship
 6      Grant Program, further providing for definitions.
 7      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
 8   hereby enacts as follows:
 9      Section 1.     The definitions of "approved course of study" and
10   "in-demand occupation" in section 2050-L of the act of March 10,
11   1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949,
12   added July 17, 2024 (P.L.945, No.89), are amended to read:
13   Section 2050-L.    Definitions.
14      The following words and phrases when used in this subarticle
15   shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
16   context clearly indicates otherwise:

18      "Approved course of study."      A program offered by an
19   institution of higher education that provides instruction in
20   agriculture, computer science, criminal justice, business,
 1   education, special education, STEM education, engineering,
 2   nursing, allied health, sign language interpretation and
 3   translation, trades or other programs aligned to in-demand
 4   occupations approved by the agency.
 5      * * *
 6      "In-demand occupation."   A job that is in demand by employers
 7   in this Commonwealth, requires a high level of skill and is
 8   likely to provide family-sustaining wages. The term includes a
 9   job related to sign language interpretation and translation.

11      Section 2.   This act shall take effect in 60 days.
