                                    AN ACT
 1   Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
 2      Consolidated Statutes, in child protective services,
 3      providing for information for school districts.
 4      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
 5   hereby enacts as follows:
 6      Section 1.    Title 23 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
 7   Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
 8   § 6334.2.   Information for school districts.
 9      (a)   Regulation.--The department shall promulgate regulations
10   and establish procedures for best practices for the county
11   agency to notify a school building principal, a certified school
12   guidance counselor or an identified mental health professional
13   when a student at that school building is engaged in a traumatic
14   event. A traumatic event shall be defined as an event which
15   induces trauma as defined under section 102 of the act of March
16   10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of
17   1949.
18      (b)   Confidential information.--The department and the county
1   agency may not share confidential information relating to the
2   student, but the county agency shall inform the school building
3   principal, a certified school guidance counselor or an
4   identified mental health professional through written or
5   electronic communication for the purpose of monitoring the
6   student for additional support needs that the county agency is
7   aware that the student attends the school and was recently
8   involved in a traumatic event.
9      Section 2.   This act shall take effect in 60 days.
