AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," in pupils and attendance, further
6 providing for attendance policy at charter, regional charter
7 and cyber charter schools.
8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
9 hereby enacts as follows:
10 Section 1. Section 1327.2 heading and (c) of the act of
11 March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code
12 of 1949, are amended to read:
13 Section 1327.2. Attendance Policy and Reporting at Charter,
14 Regional Charter and Cyber Charter Schools.--* * *
15 (c) (1) Charter, regional charter and cyber charter schools
16 shall report unexcused absences directly to the department
17 annually through the Pennsylvania Information Management System
18 (PIMS).
19 (2) On a form developed by the department and beginning in
20 the 2024-2025 school year, a cyber charter school shall report,
1 on a weekly basis, the attendance of each student for the
2 preceding week to the school district of residence.
3 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
