                                       AN ACT
 1   Amending Title 51 (Military Affairs) of the Pennsylvania
 2      Consolidated Statutes, in Pennsylvania National Guard,
 3      further providing for association group life insurance for
 4      Pennsylvania National Guard.
 5      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
 6   hereby enacts as follows:
 7      Section 1.      Section 3105(a)(4) and (c) of Title 51 of the
 8   Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:
 9   § 3105.    Association group life insurance for Pennsylvania
10                   National Guard.
11      (a)    Voluntary participation for group life insurance.--The
12   Adjutant General may approve issuance of group life insurance to
13   nonprofit membership associations for members of the
14   Pennsylvania National Guard, subject to the following
15   requirements:

17             (4)   The amounts of insurance under the policy must not
18      exceed [$400,000] the maximum available Servicemembers' Group
 1      Life Insurance coverage per individual insured member and
 2      [$100,000] per insured spouse or dependent.
 3            * * *
 4      (c)   Definition.--As used in this section, the term "eligible
 5   member of the Pennsylvania National Guard" shall mean:
 6            (1)     members of the Pennsylvania National Guard ordered
 7      to active Federal service for a period of 30 or more
 8      consecutive days while preparing to deploy, deployed and
 9      demobilizing from deployment, to areas or operations
10      designated by the Secretary of Defense as "zones of combat"
11      or "combat operations"; [and]
12            (2)   members of the Pennsylvania National Guard ordered
13      to active State duty for emergencies under section 508
14      (relating to active duty for emergency) or 35 Pa.C.S. § 7601
15      (relating to compact enacted) for a period of 30 or more
16      consecutive days[.]; and
17            (3)   members of the Pennsylvania National Guard ordered
18      to active duty for a period of 30 or more consecutive days
19      under 32 U.S.C. (relating to National Guard) orders, status
20      or duty in response to an emergency declaration or Federal
21      mobilization with the approval of the Governor and the United
22      States Secretary of Defense.
23      Section 2.      This act shall take effect in 60 days.
