AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," in higher education accountability
6 and transparency, providing for notice of tuition increase.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
10 as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
11 section to read:
12 Section 2007-H. Notice of tuition increase.
13 (a) Requirement.--If an institution of higher education
14 increases tuition from the prior academic year, the institution
15 of higher education shall send notice of the tuition increase
16 electronically and by mail to all enrolled students of the
17 institution of higher education at least 45 days prior to any
18 bill for tuition.
19 (b) Contents.--The notice under subsection (a) must include:
20 (1) The tuition amount for the prior academic year.
1 (2) The current tuition amount.
2 (3) The dollar and percent amount of the tuition
3 increase.
4 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
