     REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON TOURISM, RECREATION AND ECONOMIC
        DEVELOPMENT, JUNE 3, 2025


                                  A RESOLUTION
 1   Designating the month of June 2025 as "Golf Tourism Month" in
 2      Pennsylvania.
 3         WHEREAS, This Commonwealth is home to more than 500 golf
 4   courses, ranging from historic clubs to modern public courses,
 5   offering diverse experiences for golfers of all skill levels;
 6   and
 7         WHEREAS, This Commonwealth's golf industry significantly
 8   contributes to the State's economy, supporting local businesses,
 9   creating jobs and attracting visitors from across the nation and
10   around the world; and
11         WHEREAS, Golf tourism promotes outdoor recreation, encourages
12   healthy lifestyles and showcases this Commonwealth's scenic
13   landscapes and hospitality; and
14         WHEREAS, This Commonwealth has produced many distinguished
15   professional golfers who have elevated the game and brought
16   pride to this Commonwealth, including Arnold Palmer of Latrobe,
17   a legendary figure known as "The King," whose impact on golf
 1   remains unmatched; Jim Furyk of West Chester, a United States
 2   Open Champion and Ryder Cup captain; and Betsy King of Reading,
 3   a Hall of Fame Ladies Professional Golf Association golfer with
 4   34 tour wins, whose achievements have inspired generations of
 5   athletes; and
 6      WHEREAS, Designating the month of June 2025 as "Golf Tourism
 7   Month" highlights the importance of golf to this Commonwealth's
 8   tourism sector and encourages residents and visitors alike to
 9   explore the State's golfing opportunities; therefore be it
10      RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
11   month of June 2025 as "Golf Tourism Month" in Pennsylvania; and
12   be it further
13      RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage
14   Pennsylvanians and visitors to participate in golf-related
15   activities and support local golf courses and related businesses
16   throughout the month.
