A RESOLUTION
1 Expressing condolences and honoring the life of Alec Campbell, a
2 park resource ranger with the Department of Conservation and
3 Natural Resources who lost his life in the line of duty.
4 WHEREAS, Alec D. Campbell, a park resource ranger with the
5 Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, lost his life
6 in the line of duty on May 23, 2025; and
7 WHEREAS, While working to lace a buoy after heavy rainfall,
8 Mr. Campbell's kayak capsized due to the increased flow of the
9 Neshaminy Creek and he fell into the water and tragically
10 drowned; and
11 WHEREAS, In working at Tyler State Park in Newtown, Mr.
12 Campbell worked to promote the safe utilization of the park's
13 recreation facilities; and
14 WHEREAS, During Mr. Campbell's tenure, he helped welcome
15 visitors, prepared and delivered informational presentations to
16 visitors and groups, guided many Eagle Scout and youth projects,
17 assisted park managers and rangers and strove to protect this
1 Commonwealth's natural spaces and ensure the safety of those who
2 visited the park; and
3 WHEREAS, Mr. Campbell enjoyed being outdoors, playing disc
4 golf, hiking, paddling and spending time with his family; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Campbell was a beloved family member, dedicated
6 worker and an avowed community steward; and
7 WHEREAS, Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife Rena and their
8 two young children, Calder who is eight and Miles who is five;
9 therefore be it
10 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives express
11 condolences and honor the life of Alec Campbell, a park resource
12 ranger with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources
13 who lost his life in the line of duty; and be it further
14 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
15 Rena Campbell.
