        K.HARRIS, BRIGGS, CEPEDA-FREYTIZ, HOHENSTEIN, GALLAGHER,
        SANCHEZ, GREEN AND PARKER, SEPTEMBER 25, 2025

     REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON TOURISM, RECREATION AND ECONOMIC
        DEVELOPMENT, SEPTEMBER 26, 2025


                                 A RESOLUTION
 1   Recognizing December 1, 2025, as "Young Involved Philadelphia
 2      Day" in Pennsylvania.
 3      WHEREAS, Young Involved Philadelphia, known as YIP, is
 4   celebrating its 25th anniversary on December 1, 2025; and
 5      WHEREAS, YIP encourages emerging leadership among young
 6   individuals in the city of Philadelphia through participation in
 7   civic affairs, engagement in local civic groups and reinforcing
 8   communication with local leadership in the city; and
 9      WHEREAS, YIP fosters relationships and increases engagement
10   within the community; and
11      WHEREAS, In order to empower young Philadelphians, YIP
12   promotes civic education and advocacy, as well as volunteer
13   opportunities and social events; and
14      WHEREAS, YIP's foundation began in 2000 among a small group
15   of college graduates; and
16      WHEREAS, The first open meeting was held in 2001, and the
17   organization was incorporated as a charitable organization in
 1   2003; and
 2         WHEREAS, At this time, YIP includes more than 7,000 members;
 3   and
 4         WHEREAS, YIP is known as Philadelphia's leading organization
 5   of young individuals, generally 22 to 35 years of age, although
 6   all are welcome; and
 7         WHEREAS, YIP provides a meaningful contribution to the city
 8   of Philadelphia and its young people through civic engagement
 9   and advocacy; and
10         WHEREAS, As YIP celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, it
11   is important that we recognize and celebrate YIP's
12   accomplishments; therefore be it
13         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize
14   December 1, 2025, as "Young Involved Philadelphia Day" in
15   Pennsylvania.
