A RESOLUTION
1 Recognizing the month of November 2025 as "Native American
2 Heritage Month" in Pennsylvania.
3 WHEREAS, The history and culture of our great nation have
4 been significantly influenced by Native American and Indigenous
5 people; and
6 WHEREAS, The contributions of Native Americans have enhanced
7 the freedom, prosperity and greatness of America today; and
8 WHEREAS, Their customs and traditions are respected and
9 celebrated as part of a rich legacy throughout the United
10 States; and
11 WHEREAS, "Native American Awareness Week" began in 1976 and
12 recognition was expanded by the Congress of the United States
13 and approved by the President in August 1990, designating the
14 month of November as "National Native American Heritage Month";
15 and
16 WHEREAS, In honor of "Native American Heritage Month,"
1 community celebrations as well as numerous cultural, artistic,
2 educational and historical activities are planned; therefore be
3 it
4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
5 month of November 2025 as "Native American Heritage Month" in
6 Pennsylvania; and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge all
8 residents to recognize the accomplishments of Native Americans
9 and Indigenous people who have influenced this Commonwealth's
10 and this country's history and culture.
