        JAMES, KHAN, McANDREW, NEILSON, E. NELSON, ROAE, ROWE, SMITH
        AND WARREN, FEBRUARY 5, 2026

                                  A RESOLUTION
 1   Designating the month of November 2025 as "Indiana University of
 2      Pennsylvania Appreciation Month" in Pennsylvania.
 3      WHEREAS, Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) was founded
 4   in 1875 as Indiana Normal School; and
 5      WHEREAS, The institution was later purchased by the
 6   Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1927, becoming Indiana State
 7   Teachers College; and
 8      WHEREAS, The institution was subsequently renamed Indiana
 9   State College in 1959; and
10      WHEREAS, The act of December 16, 1965 (P.L.1113, No.430),
11   known as the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Act,
12   redesignated the institution as a university; and
13      WHEREAS, IUP is now a thriving institution and part of the
14   Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education; and
15      WHEREAS, IUP is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2025;
16   therefore be it
17      RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
1   month of November 2025 as "Indiana University of Pennsylvania
2   Appreciation Month" in Pennsylvania; and be it further
3      RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives extend its
4   congratulations to IUP on achieving 150 years of academic
5   excellence and service to our Commonwealth and its students.
