A RESOLUTION
1 Designating April 14, 2026, as "Animal Control Officer and
2 Animal Cruelty Officer Day" in Pennsylvania; and recognizing
3 the week of April 12 through 18, 2026, as "National Animal
4 Control Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania.
5 WHEREAS, Animal control officers and animal cruelty officers
6 help pets, animals and people in our communities every day
7 across this Commonwealth and the United States; and
8 WHEREAS, There are 8,300 animal control officers and animal
9 cruelty officers across the United States; and
10 WHEREAS, Officers conduct humane investigations and seek
11 justice in cases of abuse, neglect and abandoned animals; and
12 WHEREAS, Officers protect animals from abusers as well as
13 pick up stray and helpless animals; therefore be it
14 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate April
15 14, 2026, as "Animal Control Officer and Animal Cruelty Officer
16 Day" in Pennsylvania and recognize the week of April 12 through
17 18, 2026, as "National Animal Control Appreciation Week" in
1 Pennsylvania; and be it further
2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives, in conjunction
3 with national and State efforts, recognize the contributions and
4 importance of animal control officers and animal cruelty
5 officers in this Commonwealth and across the United States.
