                                       AN ACT
 1   Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
 2      Consolidated Statutes, in firearms and other dangerous
 3      articles, further providing for sale or transfer of firearms;
 4      and abrogating a regulation.
 5      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
 6   hereby enacts as follows:
 7      Section 1.      Section 6111(f)(1) and (2) of Title 18 of the
 8   Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:
 9   § 6111.    Sale or transfer of firearms.

11      (f)    Application of section.--
12             (1)    For the purposes of this section only, [except as
13      provided by paragraph (2),] "firearm" shall mean any weapon
14      which is designed to or may readily be converted to expel any
15      projectile by the action of an explosive or the frame or
16      receiver of any such weapon.
17             [(2)    The provisions contained in subsections (a) and (c)
18      shall only apply to pistols or revolvers with a barrel length
1      of less than 15 inches, any shotgun with a barrel length of
2      less than 18 inches, any rifle with a barrel length of less
3      than 16 inches or any firearm with an overall length of less
4      than 26 inches.]

6      Section 2.   The provisions of 37 Pa. Code are abrogated to
7   the extent that they are inconsistent with the amendment of 18
8   Pa.C.S. § 6111(f)(1) and (2).
9      Section 3.   This act shall take effect in 60 days.
