AN ACT
1 Providing for display of the Preamble of the Constitution of
2 Pennsylvania in each school building.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Short title.
6 This act shall be known and may be cited as the Display of
7 the Preamble of the Constitution of Pennsylvania Act.
8 Section 2. Definitions.
9 The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
10 have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
11 context clearly indicates otherwise:
12 "School entity." A school district, joint school district,
13 area career and technical school, intermediate unit, charter
14 school, regional charter school or cyber charter school.
15 Section 3. Display of the Preamble of the Constitution of
16 Pennsylvania.
17 (a) Duties.--The governing board of each school entity in
18 this Commonwealth shall display the Preamble of the Constitution
1 of Pennsylvania at the entranceway of each school building.
2 (b) Forms.--The display under subsection (a) shall take the
3 form of, but is not limited to, a mounted plaque. The display
4 under subsection (a) may include artwork as a result of a
5 student contest, which may be prominently displayed in each
6 school building.
7 Section 4. Effective date.
8 This act shall take effect in 90 days.
