SENATE PRESIDENT BILL FERGUSON SAYS HE’S CONSIDERING A SPECIAL SESSION AND CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO REDISTRICT MARYLAND BEFORE THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS IN NOVEMBER. THIS IS SOMETHING THE GOVERNOR AND DEMOCRATS ON THE NATIONAL STAGE HAVE BEEN PUSHING FOR. BUT FERGUSON BLOCKED, SAYING IT MIGHT NOT BE LEGAL TO DO SO, ADDING THAT DEMOCRATS COULD LOSE SEATS. NOW, HE SAYS, AFTER RECENT SUPREME COURT RULINGS, THINGS HAVE CHANGED.
