Photo: Swatch Nines Swatch Nines Surf is here to stay. Ahead of the third installment of the innovative surf and skate event, the organization has just announced a three-year deal with Waco Surf. Swatch Nines Surf first took place at the Texas wave pool in 2024, followed up by a second installment in 2025. The event quickly made a name for itself with viral stunts and a playful attitude (like that crazy stalefish backflip from Hughie Vaughan that got a nod from the Birdman himself). This latest announcement confirms a 2026 edition of the competition, which has been rebranded Swatch Nines Surf & Skate, as well as a commitment through to 2028. “Waco Surf has proven itself as one of the most progressive and rider-driven venues we’ve ever worked with,” said Swatch Nines founder Nico Zacek in a press release. “After the incredible energy of the last two years, it was obvious that this is the right home for pushing the boundaries in surfing, and action sports as a whole. With this partnership, we’re able to dream even bigger and build off the current platform for years to come.” The deal also portends expansion for both Waco and the competition.
