Advocacy in support of comprehensive privacy legislation. Advocacy for greater FCC oversight. Advocacy opposing the SANDBOX Act, the Stop CSAM Act, and the Executive Order Ensuring a National Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence." Advocacy opposing federal law enforcement surveillance, particularly surveillance technology used by the Department of Homeland Security. Advocacy against the data broker loophole within FISA 702 reauthorization. Voting rights and election modernization, including supporting the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act/restoring the Voting Rights Act, the Freedom to Vote Act, the Washington D.C. Admission Act, Deceptive Practices and Voter Intimidation Prevention Act, Expanding the Voluntary Opportunities for Translations in Elections Act, the Eliminating Bias in Algorithmic Systems Act, and the Securing Elections from AI Deception Act. Artificial Intelligence and Voting Issues generally, including Deepfakes and electioneering. Legislative approaches for Mis- and Disinformation in voting, and to address voter suppression, election integrity, election security, and election subversion. Opposition to the SAVE Act, the SAVE America Act, and the Make Elections Great Again Act. Advocacy with the U.S. Postal Service regarding clarity about postmarks for mail-in ballots. Criminal justice reform, including police reform, access to justice, and facial recognition/biometric/artificial intelligence (AI) technology in law enforcement. Advocacy in support of federal funding for public defenders and community safety grants in the appropriations process. Support for the Mental Health Justice Act, the Breaking the Cycle of Violence Act, the EQUAL Act, the Raise Our Youth Act, and the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. Opposing the DC Criminal Reforms to Immediately Make Everyone Safe Act of 2025 (DC CRIMES Act), the DC Policing Protection Act of 2025, Protecting Our Nations Capital Emergency Act, DC Cash Bail Reform Act, Common-Sense Law Enforcement and Accountability Now in DC Act (CLEAN DC Act), Strong Sentences for Safer D.C. Streets Act, Clean and Managed Public Spaces (CAMPS) Act, and the DC Home Rule Improvement Act. Advocacy against racial profiling in policing and for protections and accountability mechanisms. Advocacy against the surveillance technology used by the Department of Homeland Security, and in support of guardrails for ICE enforcement, such as judicial warrants, officers identifying themselves, and not using excessive force. Hate crimes advocacy, including advocacy in support of full implementation and enforcement of hate crimes laws, resources for impacted communities, and improved data collection. Advocacy in support of the Improving Reporting to Prevent Hate Act of 2025. Educational equity issues, including affirmative action and racial equity post-Students for Fair Admissions, increased access to integrated schools and an inclusive education for students. Advocacy in support of preserving access to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, graduate plus loan restoration, and for student borrower protections in federal law. Advocacy in support of disparate impact. Ongoing advocacy against certain provisions of the Big Beautiful Bill that limit access to loans or financial aid for students and families. Advocacy to ensure accountability, proper oversight, and mitigation of harm to students and borrowers of color in the implementation of workforce Pell grants. Advocacy against these Executive Orders: to dismantle the Department of Education (Improving Education Outcomes by Empowering Parents, States, and Communities), Advancing Artificial Intelligence Education for American Youth, and Reforming Accreditation to Strengthen Higher Education. Advocacy in support of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and disparate impact. Advocacy in support of EEOC guidance that protects workers from harassment and against discrimination, and against the recission of Enforcement Guidance on Harassment in the Workplace by the EEOC. Advocacy against attacks on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) in employment, government contracting, and the private sector generally. Advocacy against the General Services Administration (GSA)s proposed revisions to pre-award certification requirements for GSAs System for Award Management (SAM). Advocacy against Executive Order 14151 Ending Radical And Wasteful Government DEI Programs And Preferencing, Executive Order 14173 Ending Illegal Discrimination And Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity. Opposing the Dismantle DEI Act. Advocacy in defense of nonprofits. Advocacy against unlawful impoundments.
