The Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA) and any legislation impacting student financial aid, Federal student loan programs, and issues impacting the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) itself. Such issues may include: system changes, reporting requirements, fee structures, servicing of Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) loans, as well as operational and administrative proposals and updates. Issues surrounding the general administration of and implementation of student loans. Guaranty agency programs, including successor guarantors, functions and oversight issues and issues that may impact Pennsylvania postsecondary institutions in areas of student aid policies, programs and implementation issues, including, but not limited to, reauthorization of the HEA. Issues related to the regulation and servicing of private student loans. Issues regarding FAFSA Simplification. Issues surrounding borrower repayment plan options, including income driven repayment plans. Issues concerning federal agency regulatory oversight. Status of the Voluntary Flexible Agreement. Discussions regarding the current Pell Grant shortfall and support for increased funding of Pell.
